He has a listing up for Purple kush seed.. This caught my eye, being a cannabis entrepreneur, very seldom have I seen such intensely colored bud.

Upon closer inspection, I see in the photo he has up, bright blue bud in the background. Okay.. obvious photoshop. Upon even closer look you can see that even the shadow of the bud in the picture is purple, okay thats a definite photoshop. If you know much about photoshop, looking at the picture you can tell somebody just applied a layer of transparent color because the way the colors are arranged on the bud simply doesn't happen.
I have a very good feeling it's fraud otherwise why would they bother photoshopping a picture on an item they're selling. Yeah, okay..
Just thought everyone should know. I'm not out to ruin his reputation, but people don't need to be doing sketchy things like that.

Yeah exactly. I've been on cannabis grow forums for the past 6-7 years and seen grow results from thousands of growers from top quality strains, and I have never ever seen bright blue bud. Bud with a slightly blue tint yeah, and bud with a slightly purple tent. But putting that picture up there is plainly insulting someones intelligence.

Seeds are a huge scam potential since a seller can claim they are anything, then send the shit seeds they found in their brickweed, and many users wouldn't even know the difference till harvest.

What a terrible combination of tinted lighting and poor image manipulation.
One seed was grown out and exhibited the extreme purple and was allowed to self-pollinate.
So, basically what you have here is some hermie bagseed that's not even worth the cost of postage, hmm.
I make my living selling cannabis seeds, and it's dimwits like this that give the industry a bad name.
I've been considering for months whether or not I should bother getting a vendors account on SR, simply because I don't see it has the potential to do very much volume here.
But I've just changed my mind, and I'll have some listings up before the weekend is over.
Sorry, Tommyhawk, no Purple Kush... I've got some Afghani Kush, and if you can get a purple light gel...

That's definitely a problem, Rook, which is why I only sell seeds in the original breeders packs.

looks like bud under a magenta and blue kessil led.
not ideal but nothing wrong with displaying bud under a grow light

I'm going to have to disagree that there's nothing wrong with displaying a bud under colored lighting.
It's not for a picture of the week bud shot, it's being used as a sales tool to sell seeds that are claimed:
the purple kush is truly purple 100% except the green meri-stem.
Putting that in your description and then using lighting that tints everything purple is dishonest, pure and simple.
Check out bud pix LTTM puts up. Fucking scrumpdillyicious fantastic looking pictures.
And I guarantee you that the bud she ships out looks pretty much like the pictures do, and if it didn't you know there would be a shitstorm of complaints. But there aren't complaints, because she posts pictures of what the buds ACTUALLY LOOK LIKE IN REAL LIFE.
But some poor guy who doesn't know any better buys those seeds, well it's going to take him MONTHS of time, growing materials, nutrients, electricity, space to grow in, and all the while he's putting his heart and soul into it, he's most likely also risking jail time. To go through all that when there is absolutely no way the finished product is ever going to look anything like the picture is just tragic.
Well, that's just a scummy thing to do to some poor unsuspecting soul. Especially for over $180!
